Zane Hyde, MD

Dr. Zane Hyde is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon who specializes in ankle, hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopy as well as ACL reconstruction, partial and total knee replacement, shoulder replacement, and ultrasound-guided injections. He joined OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports in 2021 and is committed to seeing his patients return to the quality of life they know.

Dr. Hyde graduated summa cum laude from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then moved to Birmingham to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Remaining at this university, he finished his residency in orthopedic surgery. Dedicating an additional year to further his education, Dr. Hyde moved to Charlottesville to complete a fellowship in sports medicine through the University of Virginia. During his residency, Dr. Hyde was chosen as the administrative chief resident and received the Kurt M.W. Niemann Award for Outstanding Senior Resident. He was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

During his fellowship, Dr. Hyde worked as the team physician for the University of Virginia football, basketball, baseball, women’s lacrosse, and men’s soccer teams. He also served as team physician for James Madison University’s men’s and women’s basketball and softball teams.

As a native Trussville resident, Dr. Hyde is dedicated to serving and participating in his community by giving his patients the compassionate and expert care they deserve.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Hyde enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and playing golf.
