Sam Caine, DPM, FACFAS is a residency-trained, Board-Certified Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle surgeon, and Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, that offers conservative and surgical management of all foot and ankle pathology. He completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA in Integrative Biology and Physiology and, during this time, worked in physical therapy clinics to understand his future patients’ lower extremity journeys. He completed his four-year medical school training at the California School of Podiatric Medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area and his surgical training with an intern year at Boston Medical Center followed by a three-year advanced surgical residency at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Greater Seattle area. The high volume and diversity of cases during his surgical training provided him with significant experience in treating a wide range of lower extremity conditions and injuries. With training through the COVID pandemic, he learned to adapt to any situation to better serve his patients.

His interests include foot and ankle trauma, sports related injuries, Achilles tendon repair, ankle arthroscopy, foot and ankle arthrodesis and joint replacement, ankle ligament repair, osteochondral injuries, avascular necrosis, nerve injuries, revision care, limb salvage with complex wound care, skin grafting, minimally invasive surgery and lower extremity deformity reconstruction. He received focused training through various advanced surgical courses in limb deformity correction with external fixation and intramedullary nail fixation, total ankle replacement, 3D printing, and complex soft tissue and osseous reconstruction.

Dr. Caine believes in a team approach with interdisciplinary collaboration. His goal is to educate his patients, providing as much information as possible to jointly make appropriate treatment plans. If you need any additional information regarding surgical coverage or to refer a patient, please contact our office at your convenience.

When away from the office, Dr. Caine enjoys quality time with his wife and daughter exploring sunny California.
