Dr. Richard Beaver received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He attended medical school at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston where he also completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency. He went on to complete a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Foundation for Orthopedic Athletic Reconstruction and Research in Houston.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Beaver specializes in surgery of the foot and ankle. His clinical interests include arthroscopic ankle surgery, revision foot and ankle surgery, ankle joint replacement, flatfoot reconstruction, diabetic foot and ankle treatment, orthopedic trauma and extremity fracture treatment.

A published author in medical journals, Dr. Beaver is an assistant professor in the department of Orthopedic Surgery at Board at McGovern Medical School. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is a Fellow of  the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.

In his spare time, Dr. Beaver enjoys running, fly fishing, scuba diving, snow skiing, sailing, reading and traveling.
