Dr. Pointer is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon. He is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). Dr. Pointer specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction and is certified on the Total Ankle replacement. He has extensive training in diabetic-limb salvage, and Charcot reconstruction. His special interest is in foot and Ankle reconstruction, Diabetic-limb salvage, Sports medicine, Orthoplastics, Ankle Arthroscopy along with foot and ankle trauma.
Dr. Pointer hails from Texas and earned his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Political Science from Sam Houston State University before studying at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a four-year surgical residency in foot and ankle reconstruction at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. His specialized training ranges from advanced surgical techniques to conservative care.
When Dr. Pointer is not spending time with his wife and three young children, he is a sports fan and enjoys participating in global community and medical service projects.

OSSIOfiber® Certified Surgeon
An OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon has performed a minimum number of procedures using OSSIOfiber® implants. Additionally, Certified surgeons must maintain their use of OSSIOfiber® implants on a monthly basis or be an OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon trainer.
