Daniel Doty, MD
Dr. Daniel Doty is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, as a board member of the Tennessee Orthopedic Society, and as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
He is a native of northeast Tennessee where he graduated as the most outstanding graduate in Biology and summa cum laude from Carson Newman College. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee where he graduated with highest honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga where he was selected as the American Orthopedic Association Resident Leader. He completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in shoulder and elbow surgery and received the Joseph Iannotti award for excellence.
Following training, Dr Doty returned to Chattanooga to serve patients and raise his family in beautiful southeast Tennessee. He has collaborated with several companies on upper extremity orthopedic implant design and development. He has participated in local and national surgeon education including speaking at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery annual conference which draws international attendance, as well as one on one surgeon training for total shoulder replacement surgery. He is passionate about pursuing advances in field especially in regards to presurgical planning and intraoperative implant guidance and positioning.
