I’m an operative sports medicine specialist with expertise in treating complex shoulder and knee injuries. My surgical practice includes managing meniscal tears, ACL injuries, and multiligament knee injuries, as well as performing total knee replacements, cartilage transplantation, and cartilage preservation procedures. In shoulder care, I focus on advanced interventions such as rotator cuff repairs and shoulder arthroplasty.
My practice is driven by technology, innovation, and continual learning. Trained at the renowned Andrews Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama — an international hub for treating elite athletes — I witnessed firsthand the importance of staying current in this rapidly evolving field. I’m deeply committed to remaining at the forefront of surgical techniques and technology, ensuring that my patients benefit from the latest advances in sports medicine. None of the procedures I perform today are exactly the same as those I did a few years ago, and I expect the same constant evolution in the years to come.
A strong advocate for biologic therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and tissue grafting, I emphasize joint preservation and natural healing. For active adults seeking to maintain mobility and quality of life, these biologic approaches often offer effective alternatives to joint replacement.
Beyond my professional life, I am a devoted family man and father of three boys, balancing a demanding medical career with my commitment to family. My diverse background adds depth to my character: I attended medical school in Israel and practiced Western medicine in Shanghai while studying Eastern healing traditions. A native of Connecticut and proud UConn Husky, I enjoy collecting antique orthopedic texts and spending time outdoors on my tractor.
In my clinical interactions, I prioritize respect, empathy, and empowerment. I always honor my patients’ time and ensure that they are fully informed decision makers in their care. My consultations emphasize collaboration, offering multiple treatment options, and fostering authentic relationships built on trust and communication.
Guided by the maxim “If you’re not green, you’re rotten,” I strive to stay vibrant, forward-thinking, and ever-evolving in both my practice and my life.
