Albert S.M. Dunn, DO, FAAOS, is an orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in sports medicine. Dr. Dunn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania majoring in biology and achieving membership in Beta-Beta-Beta, the national biological honor society. He obtained his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine also in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Following medical school, Dr. Dunn performed his orthopaedic internship and residency at South Pointe Hospital/Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio serving as chief resident his final year. After residency, Dr. Dunn completed a one-year orthopaedic sports medicine traveling fellowship with the world-renowned Orthopaedic Foundation in Stamford, CT, and New York City.

During this intensive one-year subspecialty training, Dr. Dunn cared for high school, collegiate, Olympic and professional athletes and had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s foremost authorities on shoulder, hip, knee, and adolescent sports surgery.

Dr. Dunn is double board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is the Program Director for the Precision Orthopaedic Institute (POI): Knee, Hip, Shoulder Arthroplasty & Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is Core Clinical Teaching Faculty for UH Regional Orthopaedic Residency Program. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery for Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Academically, Dr. Dunn has contributed multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and lectured in various conference settings. He has served as a committee member for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Dunn has Key Opinion Leader consulting roles with various orthopaedic industry companies. His academic areas of interest include the shoulder, hip, and knee.

Dr. Dunn is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society (OOS).
