Dr. Murphy received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY; and his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY.

Upon completing medical school, Dr. Murphy was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. After returning from the Gulf War he completed his residency program in Podiatric Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. During this time he also received specialized training in Micro-Vascular Surgery at the Uniformed Services Health Sciences University located in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Murphy was the reassigned to Florida where he finished his naval career and entered into private practice, which is currently located in Edgewater, FL. Dr. Murphy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is a member of the American Podiatric Association, the Florida podiatric Medical Association, and the Volusia County Podiatric Medical Association.

Although Dr. Murphy specializes in foot and ankle surgery; his wide and varied experience with patients ranging from young service men and women to seniors in their later years, has enabled him to treat all aspects and conditions of the foot and ankle.
