Jue Cao, MD
Jue Cao, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Cao moved to the United States at age 10. Every morning before school, he woke up before sunrise to help his father, who gave up his career as an orthopaedic surgeon in China to move to Colorado, deliver newspapers before heading to school. Quickly, he learned the importance of hard work, a good education, and humility. Dr. Cao attended Cherry Creek High School and completed his undergraduate degree at CU Boulder. While he moved to the East Coast to attend Drexel University for medical school, his hope was to always return to Colorado. Dr. Cao was able to attend the University of Colorado for an orthopaedic residency and complete three additional fellowships in hand surgery, pediatric hand surgery, and pediatric orthopaedics. His desire was to become an expert in these fields and help his patients to the best of his abilities.
One of Dr. Cao’s favorite aspects of patient care is the mutually respectful and symbiotic approach he creates with patients and their families. As a doctor, he deeply values being part of the lives of his patients. He finds the opportunity to teach, support, empower, and create the best treatment plan that fits every patient’s unique circumstance and medical needs. In 2020, Dr. Cao was honored to have been selected as a 5280 Top Doc. He feels grateful to live and work in Colorado and recognizes the journey to get here couldn’t have been done without his best friend/wife, two adventurous sons, and all his teachers and mentors along the way. Dr. Cao enjoys giving back to the community and has returned to Cherry Creek High School to lecture and inspire high school students to consider a career in medicine. In his free time, Dr. Cao enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. He loves golf, tennis, snowboarding, road biking, mountain biking, and traveling the world.
