Dr. C. Christopher Nicholas was born in Norfolk and raised in Virginia Beach, where he attended Kempsville High School. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Virginia. He then went on to Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, completing his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. There he received the prestigious Lewis Gorden Memorial Award for the highest marks in Pharmacology. Dr. Nicholas completed his post graduate training at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center of Weill Medical College of Cornell University where he completed his podiatric medicine and surgical residency. There he received extensive training in trauma, reconstructive foot and ankle, and elective forefoot surgery. He maintains full privileges at Bon Secours Depaul Medical Center, Bon Secours Surgery Center of Virginia Beach, Sentara Leigh Hospital, and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Dr. Nicholas is a diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery; a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons; and a member of the American, Virginia, and Hampton Roads Podiatric Medical Associations. He has been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has been a primary investigator in experimental diabetic foot wound healing studies through Clinical Research Associates of Tidewater. Dr. Nicholas has served on both the Physicians Advisory Board and the Medical Executive Committee of the Bon Secours Surgery Center of Virginia Beach. He is a past President of the Cyprus Benevolent Society of Tidewater 2009-2015. He served on the Board of Directors for the Norfolk Community Services Board 2012-2016. He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association Norfolk Chapter.

OSSIOfiber® Certified Surgeon

An OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon has performed a minimum number of procedures using OSSIOfiber® implants. Additionally, Certified surgeons must maintain their use of OSSIOfiber® implants on a monthly basis or be an OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon trainer.
