Dr. Austin V. Stone is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician who enjoys taking care of athletes and active individuals of all ages. Dr. Stone specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine conditions of the shoulder, elbow and knee, in addition to cartilage injuries and the use of ortho-biologics. Dr. Stone has a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. As an avid cyclist and runner, he is committed to helping his patients restore an active lifestyle through excellence in musculoskeletal care, continued participation in state-of-art orthopedic research and dedication to sports medicine.
Dr. Stone completed medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine followed by his Orthopedic Surgery Residency training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. During his residency, he also completed an orthopedic research fellowship and obtained a PhD in Molecular Medicine and Translational Sciences specializing in cartilage injury and osteoarthritis. Dr. Stone then completed an Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Stone enjoys being involved in the community and most enjoys time spent with his family.
OSSIOfiber® Certified Surgeon
An OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon has performed a minimum number of procedures using OSSIOfiber® implants. Additionally, Certified surgeons must maintain their use of OSSIOfiber® implants on a monthly basis or be an OSSIOfiber® certified surgeon trainer.
